Learning english

What is the best way to learn english. I'd say practice. Basically it is a way of achiving mastery in every field. If you write books, do some sports, write code or do whatever you do - after some time, spent on this "process" you, without doubt, will be doing your staff better.

I start learn english in the first grade of school. It was 17 years ago... JESUS! If only i'd been more interested in it in those days. With this amount of time i MUST be fluent speaker at this times.

But you can learn subject for something (for grade etc.) or for yourself. Take my advise - do it for yourself or don't do it at all.

The main reason i have been learning english for such a long time - i hadn't actual reason to learn this language. It is very hard to learn something if you do it not for yourself and do not practice it at day basis. So another advise - if you start learning process - be consistent. Keep doing it everyday.

But you can say - it's hard to choose what to master. Well, ther is universal answer for this one. Start doing what you like the most and if after some time you fill no satisfaction - try something else. It was easy to say that, but the process of finding "you thing" can take a lifetime and a half. I am not an expert in this kind of topics but still can suggest to learn how to stop you inside dialog to actually hear your brain and to make some brainstorming on what you actually like. If you can listen to yourself, you are halfway happy peson.

So, i was talking about learning english. (Why am i writing about learning english in english? I definitely should think about this one.) After havig got my first computer back in 2003, and spent quite some time plaing games and watching films, i encoutered South Park. Yes, i remember days, when this series roked. It took me about a month to get in trouble - i've seen all translated series, even those with subtitles.

It was a disaster!

I could download new episode, but it was in english. What to do? So i found english subtitles and start watching. At first it was hard. I kept pausing and rewinding quite a lot.

And you know what? I was right about practice. After some time, spent watching South Park, i could watch all episode without stopping it (But i had to read subtitles though).

After one series there were others, there were books, games and films.

Yes, only by doing all this staff you can't learn english (especially you can't fully learn speaking, writing and grammar), but it is a great way to start:
Choose something you like and need and start doing it consistently for a long period of time - you can name it magic, but it definettly works.
